On June 10, 2022, the Government Office of the Capital City of Budapest initiated official consumer protection proceedings against the company due to the transfer of the extra profit special tax to passengers.

The procedure of the consumer protection authority operating under the professional supervision of the Ministry of Justice established that the airline committed a violation of the law because it deceived consumers with its unfair commercial practices, and therefore the government office imposed a HUF 300 million consumer protection fine on the airline Ryanair-DAC.
