The premiere of the “Return” series was planned for a reason Easter. The story is about Jan (played by Bartłomiej Topa) – an exemplary husband and businessman – who one day in Work has a heart attack and dies. After a few days, he literally gets up and, based on the reactions of his loved ones, finds that his life so far just sucks. In a new and very unusual situation, he is helped by his best friend Kostek, who is also struggling with the dilemmas of life and a crisis in connection with the young and very affected Malwina, played by Maria Dębska.
Mecwaldowski: At first I didn’t like Kostek
– On the first shot, I thought it was the guy who was going to the ground. I didn’t like it, it didn’t seem funny. It was only on the set and during the production of “Return” that I started to like and enjoy – Wojciech Mecwaldowski revealed to us in an interview and stressed: – You don’t have to love your hero in the beginning. It’s good that he is like an onion to you, that you peel it in layers and sometimes you even start crying.

What best describes his character? – I have this scene in front of the computer and I practiced it a lot. (…) I was wondering if I should arrange my legs this way or not. I laugh at this scene, but it really characterizes my character. How he does it, what he does and who is there, shows what kind of person he is and how sensitive he is – he explains with pliers. She also adds that she worked very well on the set with Bartłomiej Topa, with whom she had a really endearing bond. – We had great roles to play and that motivated us – he says and admits that director Adrian Panek fascinated him with his British sense of humor, openness to improvisation and actors’ ideas, and the fact that he simply loves cinema.
The scriptwriter for the new CANAL + production is Krzysztof Rak, co-creator of films such as “Sztuka kochania”, “Gods”, as well as creative producer of the Oscar nominated “Body of God”. The director was Adrian Panek, who previously shot “The Trap”, The Genetic Code, “Daas” or “Werewolf”. and Matylda Giegżno.
The premiere of “Return” is scheduled for April 15th. The series will be available on CANAL + PREMIUM and on CANAL + online.
