A live broadcast of Russia 1, the main TV channel on the Russian public network VGTRK, was interrupted by a woman protesting the invasion of Ukraine. The woman had with her a sign on which it reads, in Russian and English, ‘No to war, stop to war. Don’t believe the propaganda, they are lying to you ”; and further down “Russians against the war”. The Russian news agency TAX says the woman could face an administrative sanction and a few days in prison for the protest.

The journalist of the Russian independent site Meduza Kevin Rothrock has traced the identity of the woman (her name would be Marina Ovsyannikova and she would be part of the editorial staff of the news Russia 1) and shared on Twitter a video that he would have turned before his gesture, to explain the reasons. In the video the woman says that her father is Ukrainian, ashamed of working for the propaganda of the Russian government and calls for protest against the war.
