One of England’s most historic rivalries is renewed on Wednesday night when Manchester United host a managerless Leeds at Old Trafford.
It’s red against white, Lancashire against Yorkshire; the sporting event of the Wars of the Roses. It is a rivalry that has fifteenth-century foundations, but resentment still remains strong between the two clubs.
The Manchester red rose have dominated on the pitch and Erik ten Hag is expected to claim another scalp mid-week as he aims to catch Arsenal at the top of the Premier League. Leeds, meanwhile, are poised for another relegation following Jesse Marsch’s dismissal.
It’s a significant duel in historical and contemporary context, but those in the UK won’t be able to watch the game live on Wednesday night.

Why isn’t Man Utd vs Leeds on UK TV?
This is the only Premier League match scheduled for Wednesday night, but there is no TV coverage in the UK. Why?
Well this match was due to be played on Sunday 18th September 2022 but was postponed due to a police shortage following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
The clash was not originally selected for telecast and while there are no further league games on Wednesday, rescheduled matches that were not initially televised cannot be televised in the UK. This is the rule.
