We are going to talk to you about what can be done on WhatsApp Web and what cannot be done regarding WhatsApp in its mobile version. WhatsApp Web is a good alternative for when you are in front of a computer and want to use the activated WhatsApp application directly from the browser without having to use your mobile.
It is not an independent application to use on the computer such as Telegram, but basically a link with which you can connect via WiFi to your mobile app. But it is that in addition to the limitation that you have to have the mobile app turned on to use WhatsApp Web, there are also several other things that you cannot do in the browser when you are using this service, and that is what we are going to talk about today.
In this article we are going to focus on thoroughly reviewing the functions of the application, and see which of them can be done in one version or another. We are going to start with a complete table with all the functions, and then we will explain the main differences that you can find between them.

What can and cannot be done on Whatsap Web
As you can see in the table, WhatsApp Web allows you to do most of the main actions of the application. You can send photos, messages, documents, videos and contacts. However, in the sharing functions there are a couple of absences such as location or audio. However, for audio there is a little whatsapp tricks, and that is that if you use the option to send documents you can attach any file, including any audio or MP3 that you have on your computer.

In the rest of the conversation options, you will not miss anything, since you can use emojis, GIFs and stickers in the same way and with the same search engine that you use on your mobile. You can also use the search within a conversation, the search for chats and contacts, and the options to empty conversations, archive them, silence them or fix them.

WhatsApp Web also allows you to use the webcam of your computer or laptop to send photos or videos, but keep in mind that you will have to give the browser permission to access. You can also send voice messages in this way, using the microphone that you have connected to the computer or integrated into the webcam.
There are other chat-related options that are available, such as notifications or wallpaper settings. You will also be able to use the WhatsApp statuses, both to see those of your contacts from the web and to create your own using the webcam.
Perhaps what you miss the most is that WhatsApp Web does not allow voice or video calls. This would have been nice to be able to use it as an alternative to Skype using the webcam, but it seems that for now it will be time to wait.
Nor will you have most of the configuration options that WhatsApp has, at least you do not have the account settings. These are with which you can manage privacy, security, two-step verification or number change. None of this you can do from the web. Nor will you be able to adapt the automatic download, or check the use of data.
Options such as creating broadcast are missing, although you can create groups, and you will not be able to add contacts to the agenda. For that you will have to resort to the mobile app. In short, we can say that most essential conversation options are available, but when you try to delve into advanced settings and options is when you have to turn to your device.
