President Erdogan thanked Hungary for the solidarity shown after the earthquake in Turkey and for the many help, highlighting the heroic stand of the Hungarian search and rescue teams.
It was said: Hungary is a direct neighbor of war-torn Ukraine, and Turkey is a neighbor of Turkey through the sea, so both countries are interested in a just peace as soon as possible, which must be achieved through diplomatic means. Drifting into war and the escalation of war must be avoided – they stated.
Viktor Orbán asked the Turkish president that his country should continue to be a reliable partner in the transit of eastern gas deliveries, which is crucial for Hungarian energy security.
