Quite recently, significant funds were invested in the Riga circus, but a passer-by noticed the first absence on the facade of the building, reports the program “Bez tabu”.
The creative director of the circus, Mārtiņš Ķibers, emphasizes that the construction work is far from over. The facade is still waiting for its revival.
Architect Uldis Lukševics reveals that the fading of the facade is even a good sign – the historical facade is currently being freed from moisture.
“Currently, the historical facade is being restored. Don’t worry about it, the facade remains healthier. The plaster allows moisture, salts to come out. When the large amount has come out, the facade will be in such a condition that we can finish it.
The main bad thing will be pulled out. The restoration of the facade is only half way,” explains Uldis Lukšević, representative of the architectural firm NRJA.
At the moment, there is a plan to restore the facade to the appearance conceived in 1888 – with historical windows and doors.
