The Netherlands plans to deliver mine trawlers and drone detection radars to Ukraine, Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollengren said during her visit to Ukraine.
“The Netherlands will provide two minesweepers of the Alkmaar class. We will also start training Ukrainian units so that they know how to use these ships,” the minister said.
During a visit to Odesa and Mykolaiv in Ukraine, Ollengren and Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov talked about strengthening the coast defense, shipping safety and protection of grain transport ships.
Reznikov emphasized that it is fundamentally important for Ukraine that the “grain deal” on the export of Ukrainian grain from Black Sea ports continues to work.
In addition to sea mine detection systems, the Netherlands will also hand over to Ukraine M3 transfer systems, as well as radar systems for spotting enemy drones.
These machines will be purchased directly from the manufacturers.
