The rivalry between England and the United States is a strange one. The hate ranges from petty jibes to purely visceral. It was a fantastic backdrop before the World Cup group stage clash.

After a quiet start, Harry Maguire impressed a global audience with a revolving dribble in the USA box.

The United States had the best early chances, with Christian Pulisic hitting the crossbar just after the half-hour mark.

England were poor for much of the first half and were somewhat lucky to equalize.

The start of the second half was not very bright for England, with Mason Mount receiving much criticism.

Three Lions fans were calling for substitutions. They took Jordan Henderson. Mount remained on the field.

But in the end, neither side could find a target and the loot was shared. England are helped more from the point, but the United States will be happier with the performance.
