Dec. 5 (UPI) — Former President Donald Trump clarified remarks he’s made about the demise of U.S. rules and regulations, “even those found in the Constitution,” on his social media platform Truth Social on Monday.

Trump faced sharp criticism when he responded to a Twitter story that “suppressed” a New York Post story about the contents of a laptop belonging to President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden in 2020. On Monday, Trump posted that the idea that he wants to “terminate” the Constitution is a lie.

“The Fake News is actually trying to convince the American people that I said I wanted to ‘terminate’ the Constitution. This is just more MISINFORMATION AND LIES, just like RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, and all their FUCKS AND SCAMS. What I have said is that when there is “MASSIVE AND WIDESPREAD FRAUD AND DECEPTION”, as was irrefutably demonstrated in the 2020 presidential election, steps must be taken immediately to STAY THE WRONG. ONLY THE FOOLS would disagree with this and accept STOLEN ELECTION. WITCH!”

Trump added that an election should go to the “rightful winner” or be re-run if it is “irrefutably fraudulent.”

The post, which Trump said was misrepresented by the media, directly referenced potentially solving articles of the Constitution.

“So with the revelation of massive and widespread fraud and deception working closely with big tech companies, the DNC and the Democratic Party, you throw out the results of the 2020 presidential election and declare the RIGHT WINNER, or you have a NEW ELECTIONS?” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.

“Massive fraud of this type and scale allows for the termination of all rules, regulations and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, false and fraudulent elections!

The White House and former Trump Vice President Mike Pence have spoken out against his proposal.

“I have to tell you that I think everyone who holds public office, everyone who aspires to serve or serve again, should make it clear that we will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States,” Pence said while appearing on WVOC radio in Colombia, Carolina of the South

“To attack the Constitution and all it stands for is anathema to the soul of our nation and should be universally condemned,” White House spokesman Andrew Bates said in a statement.

The post came after Elon Musk teased more details to come to the New York Post story on Friday, promising what “really happened” would be revealed.

Musk later referenced a thread by user Matt Taibbi who said Twitter took “extraordinary steps” to limit exposure of the story ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

Taibbi’s thread alleges that Twitter’s content moderation team selectively restricted posts about the New York Post story, even going so far as to block then-White House press secretary Kaleigh McEnany out of her account for tweeting at regard.
