In the project, without the reconstruction of the intersection, it is still planned to adjust the infrastructure of tram line 7 in the section from Centrāltirgus street to the end point “Ķengarags” and the infrastructure of tram line 5 in the section from the intersection of Jūrmala gatve and Slokas street to the end point “Iļguciems” to the parameters of the low-floor tram.
The project plans to renovate four and build one substation, equipping all of them with electrical equipment, with the aim of ensuring adequate power supply for low-floor tram movement.
The total cost of the project is planned to be 55.2 million euros, while Cohesion Fund co-financing amounts to 85% of the eligible costs of the project, or 38.78 million euros.
