Tottenham are close to confirming the appointment of Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou as their new manager, 90 minutes he understands.
Australia’s Postecoglou brushed aside questions about his future before Sunday’s Scottish Cup final against Inverness, which the Bhoys won 3-1, completing their fifth domestic treble in seven seasons.
The 57-year-old was coy when asked about his future immediately after that game. When he was asked why he couldn’t ban links with Spursshe said: “Because I think I deserve to enjoy this moment just like everyone else. I have worked very hard for this moment.
“I owe it to my friends and family. I understand why you have to ask the question, but from my point of view I deserve to enjoy this moment.
“There will be a time to come for these kinds of questions, but for now we’ve grabbed a little piece of history for ourselves and I’m not going to ignore it by being sidelined.”
90 minutes He understands that the finishing touches to the deal between Spurs and Postecoglou are now underway. The north London club had previously pulled out of talks with Julian Nagelsmann, saw Arne Slot stay at Feyenoord while Mauricio Pochettino returned to the Premier League to take the Chelsea Work.

Postecoglou has enjoyed great success since taking over from Celtic in 2021. The Scottish giants reclaimed the Premiership title in his first season ahead of this season’s domestic treble. Postecoglou also won trophies in Australia with South Melbourne and Brisbane Roar and led the national team through qualification for the 2018 World Cup before stepping down.
An immediate problem he will face if appointed Spurs manager is the future of striker Harry Kane.
England’s captain is the object of interest from Real Madrid, who are looking for a replacement for Karim Benzema who will leave the Bernabeu this summer.
