According to the information, the diplomatic mission will be opened on Tuesday as a sign of rapprochement between the two countries. In addition, the consulate in Jeddah will also reopen, added the Iranian diplomatic ministry.
In May, Iran announced that it would once again appoint an ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
Relations between the two countries deteriorated after the Sunni kingdom cut diplomatic ties with Tehran in January 2016 after extremists in Iran attacked the Saudi Arabian embassy there. The latter was triggered by the execution of a respected Shia religious scholar by the Saudi authorities.
Saudi Arabia too plans to reopen its embassy in Tehranbut he has not yet set a date for this.
The two regional rival powers, Tehran and Riyadh, announced at the beginning of March that they would restore diplomatic relations, and the Saudi-Iranian negotiations were mediated by Beijing.
