Kim Jo-Jong bases his statement on the fact that 611 Ukrainian citizens signed an online petition demanding the purchase of nuclear weapons from the Kiev government. The petition was created because Russia announced the installation of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus in the past few days.

So far, the Zelensky government has not responded to the petition or North Korea’s statement.

Even before the war, Moscow regularly accused Ukraine of wanting to acquire nuclear weapons, and Pyongyang probably adopted this rhetorical approach with its current accusations.
