ORFK: more than nine thousand people arrived from Ukraine on Sunday
4,696 people entered Hungary on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border section on Sunday, and 4,546 of those who entered the Romanian-Hungarian border section declared that they came from Ukraine – the National Police Headquarters (ORFK) informed MTI on Monday.
Among those admitted, the police issued temporary residence certificates to 64 people, which are valid for 30 days. During this time, they must visit the office of the National Directorate General of Immigration, which is competent according to their place of residence, to obtain the final documents, the announcement states.
61 people – including 18 children – arrived in Budapest by train fleeing the war in Ukraine, the ORFK announced.
The Budapest Police Headquarters announced on the police.hu website that it is assisting refugees arriving by train from Ukraine with the Emergency Police. The Budapest Civil Guard Association also provides support in the tasks.
They are in constant contact with the National Directorate General of Disaster Prevention, the National Directorate General of Immigration, the Hungarian State Railways Ltd., the Budapest Transport Center, the Police Directorate of the Metropolitan Municipality, the Government Office of the Capital City of Budapest, as well as the staff of aid organizations, they wrote.

Navalny won the documentary Oscar
Navalny, a film about the imprisoned Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny, won the best documentary award at the 95th Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
Daniel Roher, the film’s director, dedicated the award to Navalny and all political prisoners around the world. Yuliya Navalnaya, among the creators who received the Oscar, said in a message to her husband: she dreams that one day she will be free, and their country, Russia, will also be free.
