Naples, 14 March 2022 – Our healthcare is increasingly based on organizational evidence, on structural evidence and on pathways. At the Winter School 2022 in Naples, entitled “Change Health. From the speech of Donato Toma, President of the Molise Region, some important points emerged: the address to technological innovation, the use of Ministerial Decree 71 in an integrated manner, up to the overcoming of the territorial peculiarities that concern the whole country and especially towards the professionals.
“As far as management innovation is concerned, the pivot of change gravitates around a new organization of territorial medicine: the Ministerial Decree 71, which has just been approved, and the PNRR funds destined for the intermediate proximity structures, give a strong boost to all the dynamics of transformation both at central and regional level. As far as technological innovation is concerned, the pandemic and PNRR funds have certainly given the acceleration necessary to ensure that technological innovation does not represent the ephemeral technical use of devices or mere platforms, but by radically changing the approach you move from simple technicality to a real patient-oriented care tool. We have understood that to create proximity medicine and to support professionals in implementing it, there is no other way than the use of intuitive, simple to use and smart technologies that can be adapted to all population targets. The regional health system held up during the pandemic and gave its best in particular in the management of tampons and in the vaccination campaign in which Molise was one of the most virtuous regions of Italy. The PNRR has given us the nourishment to put behind us the continuous lack of investments in infrastructures and technologies, which worsened when the system had to face the pandemic. The only way – concluded Toma – is to increase the attractiveness of the health system, in particular the public one, towards professionals such as to allow us to fill the operational units of the hospital in the area with young motivated and trained staff, and we are already doing it. We must also be responsible interpreters for the implementation of mission 6 of the PNRR and for the integration between the projects and the resources assigned by sharing the choices of health policies with all the players in the area “.

“Perhaps never as now the national health service, and its regional variations, have been at the center of such epochal transformations, due to what has been learned with the pandemic but not only, and the need to strengthen treatment as much as possible, but above all prevention and rehabilitation. Rodolfo Lena, President of the VII Commission for Social Policies and Health, Lazio Region, then spoke.
“Thanks to the PNRR funds, we are facing a great challenge, an unrepeatable opportunity that will allow us to open a season of great investments. With the reorganization plan, which sees 700 million dolars committed until 2026, the health system of the Lazio Region will change and evolve profoundly, allowing us to build adequate responses to the health needs and care needs of the territories. Through community homes and hospitals, territorial operational centers and structures for the development of telemedicine and territorial health care, we can really create a new health care that looks at the needs of people. We will focus on an increasingly proximity offer with the extension of home care and a more effective integration between the corporate and territorial hospital network, through the presence of intermediate structures and advanced technologies “.
