The Premier League has confirmed the eight players nominated for the player of the month award for November and December.
There were two rounds of matches in November before the Premier League was suspended for the World Cup break, with two more taking place following the league’s return last month, so the monthly premium has been combined for this period.
Manchester United duo Casemiro and Marcus Rashford both made the shortlist for their impressive displays in the Red Devils’ four games. After starting the spell with a defeat to Aston Villa, Erik ten Hag’s side went on a three-game winning streak against Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Wolves.
Casemiro came in to assist for the third goal in a 3-0 win over Forest, while Rashford scored and assisted in that game and appeared with the winner against Wolves on the final day of the calendar year.
League leader Arsenal they also have two candidates: midfielder Martin Odegaard and striker Bukayo Saka.
The Gunners won all four of their games, with Odegaard having three goals and three assists in that stretch, with Saka not far behind with two goals and one assist.
Erling Haaland’s four-goal haul is enough to earn the Manchester City striker another nomination. No player scored more in the fortnight than Haaland, who scored against Fulham, Leeds and Everton.
Kieran Trippier by Newcastle United he also makes the cut after popping off with two assists and inspiring three clean sheets in four games as the Magpies continue to make noise at the top of the table.
The dominant Joao Palhinha of Fulham And Brentford Central defender Ben Mee is also in the running for the award, with the two players also helping their respective teams climb towards the European positions.
Fans can vote for their winner on the EA Sports website and those votes will be combined with a judging panel’s opinion to decide the ultimate winner.
