The United States plans to buy missile systems, ammunition, and military vehicles from an amount equal to almost five times the entire Hungarian GDP, and among other things, the number of F-35 fighter-bombers planned to be purchased will be increased.
In addition to defense purchases, the US president also wants to give a 5.2% pay rise to people serving in the US armed forces. The package will also include an increase in the amount of military equipment planned to be given to Ukraine.
According to the Republican Party, the draft defense budget is insufficient, as the rate of increase (3.2%) does not exceed inflation. According to them, this would be necessary due to the deteriorating geopolitical situation.
