Madrid’s administrative court for sport has rejected Barcelona’s appeal against striker Robert Lewandowski’s three-match suspension in La Liga, Mundo Deportivo newspaper reported on Saturday.

He will miss against Espanyol, Atlético Madird and Getafe.

The Pole was suspended for three matches after picking up a second yellow card, followed by a red card, during the match against Osasuna on 8 November.

The relatively harsh suspension was due to Lewandowski complaining about the decision, according to the referee’s report.

This was his first red card in nearly 10 years, most recently on 9 February 2013 when still playing for Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
