Black Friday shopping tips
We tend to find that the best savings are on older models. Check out the generation of the discounted model to make sure you know exactly what you’re buying and how much it’s really worth. We’ve seen retailers switch to selling refurbished or used models when stock of brand-new models runs out, so double check that the discounted model isn’t actually a used Mac and therefore not as good a deal as it might appear. That’s not to say you should avoid refurbished models – you just need to make sure you’re not buying refurbished without knowing it. This is a good discount on an unused “Open Box” MacBook Pro, for example: Walmart, MacBook Pro, 16-inch, M1 Pro chip, 16-core GPU, $1,799 ($700 off)! Mac deals aren’t limited to Black Friday. We see good deals all year round, so don’t feel pressured to shop on Black Friday. However, if you are outside of the US we expect these to be the best prices you will ever see based on clear indications that Apple is likely to raise Mac prices at some point, as it did for iPad pricing after it launched in October.
