THAT TRAIN TO YUMA
Iris 9pm. With Russell Crowe, Christian Bale and Peter Fonda. Directed by James Mangold. USA 2007 production. Duration: 2 hours

THE PLOT
A farmer in financial distress (drought is burning his fields) agrees for a fee to escort a dangerous outlaw, Wade, from the city where he was captured to Yuma prison. But the prisoner’s gang is lurking. First he besieges the hotel where the escort (the farmer is left alone) has assaulted themselves. Then he waits at the gate as a farmer and prisoner as they set off to the station to catch the fateful train.

WHY SEE IT
Because it is the not unworthy remake of a famous western from the 50s. The action scenes are shot very well, the tension is high and Russell Crowe as the not entirely bad villain gives us one of his best interpretations. Too bad that the hero is a little weaker than the one of 1957 (why did the bandit of ’57 agree to be taken to jail? Because from man to man he recognized that that farmer attached to values such as work and family was more of a man than him) .
