VfB Stuttgart lost 2-0 at home to Werder Bremen on Sunday, remaining winless in the second half of the Bundesliga season and stuck in the championship danger zone.
Jens Stage crashed into the top left corner in the 59th minute and Marvin Duksch curled into the far right corner in the 77th minute.
Stuttgart pressed early on and after Bremen’s opening goal, but were unable to find the net on a rainy afternoon.
They are yet to win in their four league games since the January restart under new manager Bruno Labbadia and remain third from bottom in the relegation play-off.
Bremen moved up two places to eighth place, ending a six-match winless run against their opponents and winning in Stuttgart for the first time in ten years.
Matchday 19 concludes late on Sunday with Wolfsburg against champions Bayern Munich finally wanting a first league of the year to send them top of the table.
