NEW YORK. The Minnesota Wilds are eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs.

They lost their sixth duel of the night to the St. Louis Blues 5-1.

– It’s a terrible disappointment, says Norwegian star Mats Zuccarello.

They represented another excellent appearance in the base series, so many thought Wild would be able to do well this year, especially since they signed Marc-Andre Fleury in March.

But it turned out as usual:

Handshake with the opponent already in the first round. The green-clad folks from the Swedish countryside in the north, despite their hard work, haven’t made it through the opening round since 2015.

– It’s a terrible disappointment, says Mats Zuccarello after the final signal in the last 5-1 defeat of the night in St. Louis.

– We were convinced that we were going back to St Paul for Game 7. Now it feels heavy, we have been fighting for each other all season.

Joel Eriksson Ek received a bat in the face during the first period of the match of the night and was forced to leave the nursing room. Subsequently he returned to full shield, but the injury does not increase the chances that the fiery Värmlander will return home and play the World Cup.

The Blues, with defender Calle Rosén in formation, will face the Colorado Avalanche in the second round.
