Slovakia also goes against the EU, they extend the ban on grain imports from Ukraine

Back in May, the EU allowed Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia to ban Ukrainian grain, corn, rapeseed and sunflower from the domestic market, on the condition that transit of the products is still allowed. The license expires on September 15, and while some were hoping for an extension,

BRUSSELS ANNOUNCED FRIDAY EVENING THAT THE BAN WILL BE ENDED AS PLANNED ON SEPTEMBER 15.

Since then, the following countries have reported on the matter:

  • the Hungarian government bans the import of 24 products, including wheat, various meats and vegetables from Ukraine, from September 16,
  • Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stated that Warsaw would maintain the ban even without the EC’s consent,
  • Romania will wait until Monday regarding the issue.
