The Samsung Galaxy A10 is technically the lightest of the annual series of Galaxy A smartphones, which now covers the entry and mid-range segments. Successor of the Galaxy J4 +, the Galaxy A10 incorporates the technical sheet of the latter while bringing some changes.
6.2 inch HD display
The Samsung Galaxy A10 does not take the frame of the Galaxy J4 +, but adopts the design language of the Galaxy A range of 2019. Its shell, which covers its back and its edges, is made of polycarbonate. Its main photo unit, consisting of a single sensor and an LED flash, is placed in the upper left corner and is no longer centered. The footprint of the Galaxy A10 is generally smaller than that of the Galaxy J4 +.
Up front, the Galaxy A10 has a screen similar to that of its predecessor. Two differences, however: the borders are narrower and a notch appears to accommodate the webcam. This panel is therefore larger than that of the J4 +: 6.2 inches against 6 inches. Its format is 19 / 9th. The backlight is IPS. The definition is HD + (720 x 1520 pixels). The resolution reaches 271 pixels per inch. At the front, a 2.5D glass protects the touch screen.
Exynos 7884 and 2 GB of RAM
The Samsung smartphone is powered by a low cost chipset no longer coming from Qualcomm, but from Samsung. This is the Exynos 7884 (replacing the Snapdragon 425), an octo-core (2 + 6) formed from Cortex A-53 cores clocked up to 1.6 GHz. It integrates an ARM Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. Here it runs Android 9.0 Pie dressed in Samsung’s One UI overlay.
In the US and internationally, the Galaxy A10 is offered in a single configuration: 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, expandable by microSDXC up to an additional 1 TB. This is the mid-size configuration of the Galaxy J4 +, with the others having either 1 GB of extra RAM or half of internal storage.
13 megapixel camera
On the photo side, the Galaxy A10 takes over the configuration of the Galaxy J4 +. Its main photo sensor is a 13 megapixel model with lens opening at f / 1.9 and standard autofocus. It is associated with an LED flash to bring brightness. It is natively HDR compatible.
This sensor is capable of shooting 1080p at 30 frames per second. At the front, the Galaxy A10 uses the webcam of its predecessor, namely a 5 megapixel sensor with a lens opening at f / 2.2. Here too, it is accompanied by a front LED flash.
3400 mAh battery
The Samsung Galaxy A10 has a 3400 mAh battery that is not compatible with fast charging. The rest of the technical sheet is classic for an entry-level smartphone: microUSB 2.0, WiFi n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5 mm jack, and FM radio.
