Russia's campaign against Ukraine 'does not generate' the desired effect among Russian nationalists

Ukrainian air defenses reportedly intercepted all drones from two consecutive nights of Russian drone strikes on Ukraine from December 31 to January 2.

The Institute for the Study of War says Russia’s air and missile campaign against Ukraine probably isn’t having the Kremlin-desired effect among Russian nationalists.

But something else has raised a lot of questions and even criticism: the New Year’s attack on a compound in the Russian-controlled Ukrainian town of Makiivka that killed recently mobilized troops sent from Moscow.
