The British Ministry of Defense and the Institute Study of War, an American analytical institute, confirmed in their report on Monday that the Russian armed forces have been engaged in increased activity in the area of Avdijivka in Donetsk County in recent days. According to reports, Russian forces have achieved significant results in the area, and the fortification of the settlement has come within reach.
In the footage uploaded by the Ukrainian soldiers, it can be seen that the drone operators are attacking the ranks of the Russian infantry day and night, the losses may even exceed a hundred people. One video posted on social media shows more than 30 motionless Russian soldiers in a trench. Due to their sensitive nature, we do not display these recordings in our article.
However, the area became a death trap not only for Russian infantry, but also for Russian armored personnel carriers. The footage below shows a Russian attack foiled by the Ukrainian 53rd Brigade, during which at least four Russian tanks were destroyed.

According to the journalist of Kiyv Independent who was on the spot, the Ukrainian side also suffers heavy losses in the Avdijivka area during the clashes. According to ISW’s previous assessment, it is unlikely that the Russians will be able to maintain this increasing pace and that the Russian attack is suffocating, mainly due to the increasing losses.
