PSG suspend Lionel Messi for two weeks after the trip to Saudi Arabia

Paris Saint-Germain have suspended Lionel Messi for two weeks after making an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia.

French grip The group first reported on Tuesday afternoon that the Argentine striker had missed a training session to visit the Middle East.

Messi is under contract to Saudi Arabia’s tourism board and had previously canceled two previous trips to the country due to PSG commitments.

He is said to have missed Monday’s training session to travel to Saudi Arabia, having failed to persuade coach Christophe Galtier to alter his schedule. PSG have canceled their first-team day off following a horrendous 3-1 defeat at home to Lorient on Sunday.

AND RMC Sports now claim it PSG have taken the decision to suspend Messi for two weeks for this discretion – the first time he has ever been sanctioned by a club in this way.

Which games will Lionel Messi miss for PSG?

There are two games coming up for PSG which Messi now it will be missing.

The French champions travel to Troyes on Sunday before facing Ajaccio next Saturday.

PSG are five points clear of rivals Marseille at the top of Ligue 1 with just five games to go.
