The annual consumer price increase in March slowed to 16.2 percent from 18.4 percent in February. However, analysts polled by the Polish news agency PAP expected a lower annual inflation rate of 15.8 percent in March, reports MTI.
On an annual level, energy prices increased the most, by 26 percent after 22.4 percent in February. The price increase of food and non-alcoholic beverages in March was the same as in February, 24 percent.
The monthly consumer price increase decreased to 1.1 percent from 1.2 percent in February. Experts expected 0.9 percent compared to February. In March, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 2.3 percent compared to February, while energy prices decreased by 0.6 percent.
