“Patriot” and “SAM/T” air defense systems will help the Armed Forces of Ukraine not only to defend against ballistic missiles, but also to shoot down Russian aircraft at relatively longer distances, said Yuriy Ignats, the representative of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The (Patriot) complex is good not only in terms of shooting down ballistic missiles. This is a long range complex. Unfortunately, we do not have such a long-range anti-aircraft missile system. Our main complexes are Buk-M1 with a range of 40 kilometers and S-300 with a range of up to 75 kilometers,” noted Ignats.
Western anti-aircraft systems Patriot and SAM/T, which will soon arrive in Ukraine, will help to shoot down not only Russian cruise missiles, but also tactical aircraft of the occupiers. ЗСУ Юрій Ігнат said about thishttps://t.co/ve4nhUcCed

Therefore, according to him,
complexes “Patriot” and “SAM/T” with a range of 150 kilometers will help not only to shoot down ballistic missiles, but also to resist Russian aviation activities at long distances.
“Russia uses aviation in the front zone, north and south, to strike with both missiles and guided air bombs – they fly 30, 40, 50, 60 kilometers to our borders and can drop these bombs,” said Ignats.
The representative of the Air Force added that it is about the destruction of planes in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. These complexes are planned to be deployed in such a way that they cover the positions of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure and armed forces.
This week, after an interview with Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak, the Spanish newspaper “Razon” reported that “Patriot” systems have already arrived in Ukraine. The newspaper quoted the following quote from the Polish minister: “I must emphasize that thanks to the efforts of Poland, Patriot batteries or the first Leopard tanks, among others, have already reached Ukraine.”
However, the Polish Ministry of Defense soon announced that Blaszczak did not say that the Patriot systems were already in Ukraine, but wanted to emphasize that the decision to transfer these air defense systems was made thanks to the efforts of Poland. The department said that the appearance of false data was probably due to an error during translation.
