Oops: the legendary “General Armageddon” appeared thousands of kilometers from Russia

Sergei Surovikin, alias “General Armageddon”, was for a time the commander-in-chief of the Russian forces attacking Ukraine, however, he fell out of favor due to the Wagner rebellion, but to this day it is not known exactly what he did.

Several Russian sources wrote that he then spent several months under house arrest, during which he had to answer a series of “unpleasant questions”. In the meantime, the Ministry of Defense completely removed Surovikin from its website, which means that he was officially fired from all positions. Among other things, he was also the commander-in-chief of the Russian Air Force.

A few days ago there were rumors that Surovikin received a new assignment: he will represent Russia’s state interests in an emerging country.

Today it turned out: this state is Algeria.

Sergej Surovikin – now in civilian clothes – was also photographed in the country touring the country with Algerian officials and officers of the Russian army.

It is not known what exactly Surovikin is doing in Algeria. The country is a close ally of Moscow: the Algerian army largely uses Russian/Soviet military equipment, so there are regular consultations between the defense ministries of the two countries. However, Surovikin is apparently in civilian clothes.

Sergei Surovikin was one of the most widely liked and respected leaders of the Russian armed forces, which is probably why he did not end up like Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner group. Organizations composed entirely of veterans lobbied to ensure that Surovikin was not harmed by the Putin government.
