COPS have launched a murder probe after a woman was found shot dead in a garden in the early hours of this morning.
Detectives dashed to Leinster Road in Old Swan, Merseyside at 12.40am today.
They found the victim outside. She was rushed to hospital, but couldn’t be saved.
Enquiries are ongoing to formally identify the woman and inform her next of kin.
An investigation into the horror has started as police scour CCTV cameras from the area.
Detective Superintendent Mark Baker said: “This investigation is in the very early stages.
“While we understand the public will be very shocked and concerned by what has happened, we have a number of officers at the scene who are carrying out extensive enquiries to understand what has taken place and take immediate action.
