Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov met with Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram in Kyiv on March 10, and now the ministry reports that the first tanks from Norway will arrive in Ukraine in the near future.
“Norway has joined the broad international ‘tank coalition’ to help Ukraine with battle tanks. The personnel is already being trained, and the first tanks will be in Ukraine in the near future. We also help strengthen air defense. We have delivered Mistral short-range missile systems and contributed to the operationalization of NASAMS medium-range systems. We will continue to stand with Ukraine and support you on your way,” assured Björn Arild Gramm.
The Norwegian minister also announced the decision to allocate 7.5 billion dollars to help Ukraine over the next five years. The corresponding program has been submitted to the Saeima for approval. The minister also announced that Norway plans to transfer the launcher and fire control points of NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine.
