According to the mentioned calculations, the salary of the President, Prime Minister, Saeima, Constitutional Court and Supreme Court presidents will increase from 7,962 euros set this year to 8,440 euros next year.
The salary of the Prosecutor General will increase from 7,621 euros to 8,078 euros in 2024, the salary of ministers will increase from 7,052 euros to 7,475 euros, and the salary of members of the Saeima will increase from 3,981 euros this year to 4,220 euros next year.
Since the increase in the base salary in 2024 would potentially exceed 12%, the Director of the State Chancellery Jānis Citskovskis, when asked about it in the program “What’s happening in Latvia?” in January, said that solutions are being considered to “even out that peak”. The government must submit a report on the results of the salary increase or salary reform evaluation to the Saeima by April 15 of this year.
