Thirteen warships from different NATO countries are crossing the Swedish archipelago towards Stockholm. According to the military, this is a routine visit with no connection to the war in Ukraine.
– There are nine German and four Baltic ships that have been in operation and are now on their way to Frihamnen in Stockholm to bunker and rest staff, says Mikael Ågren, a communicator serving with the Swedish military at TT.
Sweden did not participate in the exercise.
He describes the visit as a routine visit with no connection to the war in Ukraine. Sweden receives around 30 war visits a year and this visit has been planned for a long time. Ships are expected to stay in Frihamnen for a few days to replenish supplies.
