Manchester City have finalized the signing of Argentine midfielder Maximo Perrone from Velez Sarsfield.
90 minutes confirmed Earlier in the transfer window City had fought off competition to secure a contract for the 20-year-old, who was also being chased by Benfica, Newcastle and Wolverhampton Wanderers, among others.
City are believed to have activated Perrone’s release clause, which was reportedly worth around $9m (£7.5m).
The defensive midfielder has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal at the Etihad Stadium and is following compatriot Julian Alvarez’s move to Manchester’s blue half this season.
More to follow.
