According to DownDectector, problems regarding Google started at around 2.30am GMT on the morning of August 9, 2022.
Over 40,000 users reported problems with the search engine.
Reports from the website state that about 80 percent of users complained of issues with search, while another 19 percent had problems with the website as a whole.
Users went to Twitter to talk about the issues.
“Had a Google search engine error for the first time ever,” wrote one person. “The engine was totally down. It’s so rare the first thing I did was come to Twitter to see if anything major is going on with the web.”
