According to her, JV has a principle that all JV ministers are persons elected in the Saeima.
“The JV conceptually discussed whether her candidacy would be acceptable within the JV circle, we discussed it in the board, and we did not get such an acceptance, therefore there was no offer,” said Siliņa.
TVNET already reported that the current Minister of Health, Līga MenĆelsone, however, withdrew her application for joining the party “Vienotība” forming the “New Unity” (JV).
At a joint press event with the chairman of the “United List” (AS) Saeima faction, Edgars Tavara, MenĆgelson explained today that on Tuesday she had filled out the questionnaire about joining “Vienotība” because she had received a promise to provide the necessary funding for health.
Now it has become clear to the minister of the outgoing government that this funding will not be available, which is why Mengelson has withdrawn her application for joining the “Unity”.
Mengelson confirmed to the LETA agency that she had submitted the application for joining “Vienotė” because she was promised the position of Minister of Health.
Asked about the possibility of working in the office of the new Minister of Health, Hossam Abu Meri (JV), if Abu Meri invited Mengelsons to it, the current former minister did not directly comment on it, indicating that it would be a different conversation.
As reported, the representatives of the JV previously informed that Menľelsone has written an application for joining the JV forming party “Vienotība”.
In the outgoing government, Mengelsons was promoted by the “Joint List” as the Minister of Health, but she was not a member of the parties included in it.
