Weekend mornings are made for pancakes, but fixing them to the full can be stressful – especially when cooking for the crowd. Whether you’re starting from scratch or using a mix, try the simple how-to’s in this video for the perfect pancakes.

Flour, baking soda, salt and sugar Stir. Whisk your dry ingredients in a medium-sized mixing bowl or a large glass measuring cup (or follow the instructions for the pre-prepared pancake mix).

Mix milk, eggs and oil In a separate bowl, beat the wet ingredients (milk, eggs, vegetable oil or melted butter) until the egg breaks.

Mix dry ingredients with wet ingredients Add wet ingredients to bowl with dry ingredients. Mix them together until the flour stops growing.

Tip: Keep a few pieces in your dough to keep the pancakes soft.

Preheat the pan or pan bring to medium – high heat and place a large pan or grill over the burner.

Tip: to test the temperature, sprinkle a few drops of water into the pan. It’s hot enough when the droplets foam and evaporate.

Add oil to the pan Moisten a paper towel with vegetable oil and use to gently wipe the bottom of the pan. This will prevent the pancakes from sticking.

Pan the dough pour for each pancake, gently pour 1/3 to 1/2 cup of dough into the pan using a scoop or measuring cup. Use a spoon to spread the dough into a circle.

Tip: add pancake fillings such as bananas or sliced peaches to the batter circles.
