Recently, we have started to spend most of our time on YouTube. Well, is that really the case? How many YouTube videos do users watch? Los Angeles-based research company Pex has announced its YouTube data for 2020. Are YouTube videos not watched as much as we think?
New research result for YouTube videos
Pex ‘s research, called the state of YouTube, was published in 2019. When we look at this historical data, it is seen that only 0.64 percent of the videos uploaded to YouTube was watched by more than 100,000. This rate reached 0.77 percent in 2020.
According to the report, the rate of videos reaching 100,000 views is quite low. On the other hand, the rate of videos that have reached very few views is very high. It is said that 88.4 percent of YouTube videos are watched less than 1,000.
Music videos made up 22 percent of all views in 2019. This rate was 2 percent in 2018. Note that only 5 percent of the content on YouTube is music videos.
