But, he adds, “there are also some people who have been trapped and they have a hard time leaving the country. For us this is a big problem. We are trying to do our best ”.

The presence of the Italian representation in Ukraine

A difficult situation where the presence of Italian diplomacy in Ukraine is important. In fact, as Zazo points out: “Among the G7 countries, St.only Italy and France still have representation in Ukraine, while the others moved to Poland ”. Zazo then added that “Italy was the last of the great Western countries to leave Kiev and evacuate many refugee children in extremis”. An important choice, the diplomat underlines, “not only as psychological support” but also because “much appreciated by the Ukrainian authorities as a concrete gesture of solidarity”.
