Here’s the decree: the lineup begins in Russia

The War Monitor Twitter account published on social media the decree, which is also available in Russian and signed by Vladimir Putin, which contains the number of Russian citizens to be called up for military service this year.

The call-up of citizens of the Russian Federation between the ages of 18 and 27 who do not belong to the reserve force and are to be called up for military service between April 1 and July 15, 2023 is set at 147,000

– is stated in the regulation.

Military conscriptions of this kind take place every year in Russia. In the fall of 2022, 120,000 people were affected by the decree, and last spring, 134,500 people. On average in recent years, each call-up concerned about 130,000 people, so no significant deviation can be detected in this year’s data, even despite the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Thus, it has become almost certain that, in the event that the Russian military wants to increase the manpower of the forces fighting on the Ukrainian front, it will do so in a separate mobilization decree.
