Saeima member Gloria Grevcova, who was found guilty of lying to the Central Election Commission by the court of first instance this week, has left the “Stability” party and its “Stability” faction in the Saeima, the MP informed.

Saeima member Gloria Grevcova, who was found guilty of lying to the Central Election Commission by the court of first instance this week, has left the “Stability” party and its “Stability” faction in the Saeima, the MP informed.
The chairman of the “Stability” faction, Aleksej Roslikovs, previously stated that Grevtsova’s decision was made after the aforementioned court verdict, which sentenced the deputy to 160 hours of community service.
On the other hand, Grevcova said that the withdrawal is not related to the court’s verdict. It was said to be an “independent and considered decision”. She also said that she will not return to either the party or the faction even if the final decision of the court is acquittal.
The deputy will vote in the Saeima in the same way as before, that is, according to her personal views and evaluating the situation according to how it will affect the well-being of the population.
At the same time, Grevcova shared a video on the social network “TikTok” in which she blames someone else for changing her CV data after she had given the information to be submitted to CVK to Roslikov. “I have worked as an ordinary firewood collector, and I have a secondary education,
which I had indicated in my CVK application, sending it to the leader of my list [Rosļikovam]. But strangely, the data was changed. I do not want and refuse to take the blame for another person’s actions,”
“TikTok” video says the MP.
By leaving the faction, Grevcova has become the first independent MP in this Saeima convocation. The faction “Stability” will now have ten members.
It has already been reported that on October 7 of last year, the State Police started criminal proceedings according to Article 272 of the Criminal Law in connection with the allegedly knowingly giving false information to the Central Committee of the Deputy. Later, the prosecutor’s office filed an indictment against Grevtsova. The case is related to providing false information to the CVK about Grevcova’s previous workplace and education.
The defendant herself did not admit her guilt during the trial and after the verdict was announced, she expressed her commitment to appeal it.
Despite the indictment and the conviction of the first instance, Grevcova can continue to perform her duties as a member of the Saeima. The Roll of Order of the Saeima states that a deputy who has been convicted of a criminal offense shall be considered excluded from the composition of the Saeima from the day the conviction comes into force. Grevtsova still has the right to fight for her innocence in two higher court instances.
