French savings at two levels

The good health of the financial markets despite the persistence of the health crisis seems to put the French in a dilemma with regard to their savings. On the one hand, worried about the health situation and its economic consequences, they fill their bank accounts to deal with unforeseen circumstances. On the other hand, galvanized by the CAC records 40, some flock to riskier savings in the form of units of account in their life insurance contract.

According to figures from the Banque de France published on Wednesday, cash investments and sight deposits have indeed increased further during the first two quarters 2021. A liquid investment par excellence, the current accounts of the French swelled by 17, 5 billion euros in the first quarter, then by 19, 8 billion in the second.
