The Bundesliga header against fourth-placed RB Leipzig is a maturity test for second-placed Union Berlin, head coach Urs Fischer told a press conference on Thursday.
“We’re not going to Leipzig just to see what happens, we’re going there to win,” said the Union coach.
The club from the capital are one point off their initial target of 40 points. After that, a new goal will be set for the season.
“We really need an extraordinary day and we need Leipzig not to be at their best,” said Fischer.
For him, the deciding factor will be whether Union fails to free themselves from Leipzig’s pressure. “You have to be confident with the ball. Otherwise, I think it will be incredibly difficult,” he said.
