Many were waiting for him, that’s it! Wearing a mask is no longer compulsory outdoors as of today. It remains imposed in certain places or during gatherings of people.

Since today, Thursday 10 June, curfew ends and wearing a surgical mask or FFP2 outdoors is no longer mandatory. This was announced at the end of the health defense council held yesterday, Jean Castex. After a period of 9 months during which the measure was imposed, this is very good news for the French. Finally, it is a sign that the epidemic is better controlled, and that vaccination works. But be careful, the mask remains imposed in closed places and outdoors under certain conditions .

The places where the wearing of the mask is always mandatory As detailed by the Prime Minister in his speech, the French must continue to protect their nose and mouth with a mask:

During outdoor gatherings . These are not only demonstrations on the public highway, but also private meetings of 06 people ; In places where social distancing cannot be respected , which is the case when there are a lot of people. Jean Castex spoke of the markets, the queues and the stadium stands. Yesterday, it was a question of leaving the wearing of the compulsory mask in the playgrounds, but finally the Government changed its mind after an opinion from the High Council of Public Health (HCSP). Children will be able to free themselves from their protection as of Thursday.

When will the end of wearing the mask indoors? It is not for everything right now. As explained by Didier Lepelletier, co-chair of the permanent Covid working group – 17 at the HCSP, “to do without it completely, it will be necessary to wait until a larger part of the population is vaccinated and the risk of transmission is more limited” .

We will have to wait until July, other measures should be announced, in particular concerning gauges in restaurants, bars, museums and other establishments invested by the public. Until then, the French can already breathe a little at the approach of the holidays .
