I do believe that statements by companies that describe good social and moral conducts inthe treatment of their workers are part of the image those companies create and it is partof their advertising message because they do not want the negative publicity. In doingthis, they are providing their workers with praise. When companies publicize their socialand economic image with other countries, they are obtaining economic benefits from thesocial actions; this would justify the promotional advertising message. An example of theadvertising message and conduct, Nike spent billions of dollars to invest in theirreputation by acknowledging that their CSR has provided relief efforts and advocatingfair wages. It is unlikely that the thought of consumers would judge companies base theirbuying decision on corporate behavior and values because as long as the product’s qualityis up to standards, people will approve their money’s worth of the product.
