The early-stage investigations are being handled by prosecutors in the Justice Department’s fraud division, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California and the Securities and Exchange Commission, Bloomberg learned from a source familiar with the matter. For now, it is not clear which managers of the bank are the focus of the investigations.
No one at the bank has been charged with wrongdoing, and the investigation may end without charges.
