The State Police has detained an organized group consisting of three persons on suspicion of the unauthorized purchase, storage and transportation of methamphetamine for the purpose of sale in large quantities in Riga.
The State Police has detained an organized group consisting of three persons on suspicion of the unauthorized purchase, storage and transportation of methamphetamine for the purpose of sale in large quantities in Riga.
The law enforcement officers had obtained information about persons who may sell narcotic substances in Riga. The police found out that each of the persons, after a prior agreement with the other members of the group, engaged in the unauthorized purchase, storage, transportation of methamphetamine for the purpose of sale and unauthorized sale in large quantities.
Law enforcement officers conducted several searches at the residences of the mentioned persons, during which they found and seized 37 grams of methamphetamine, 55 grams of dried marijuana, 30,580 cigarettes with Belarusian excise stamps and 29,280 cigarettes without Latvian excise stamps.
During the search, 22 five-liter bottles with an alcohol-like smelling liquid and 41 half-liter bottles with an unknown liquid were also found. Expertises have been ordered for the removed liquids. Also, 1,360 euros have been seized in the mentioned criminal proceedings.
The police arrested three men born in 1963, 1976 and 1978 who have already come to the attention of the police on suspicion of committing the crime. All the arrested and detained persons have previously come to the attention of the police.
