First it was the Myosotis nursing home in Bomarzo with some infected guests and employees. Now it is the turn of the Villa Rosa nursing home in Viterbo, where the ASL has discovered an outbreak following the positivity of a patient transported to Belcolle. If on the one hand the risk of the infection spreading to other patients within the structures is high, also due to the high transmissibility of Omicron, on the other hand the majority present only mild symptoms. The fact is that the virus proves not to be eradicated yet, in Tuscia as in the rest of Italy. Nothing to do with the past few months, of course. But the attention threshold of health professionals remains high.
Yesterday’s bulletin confirms the trend: 162 new cases, 191 recovered and two deaths. The latest positive reports are concentrated in the following municipalities: 42 in Viterbo, 16 in Vetralla, 12 in Tuscania, 9 in Sutri, 8 in Blera, 7 in Acquapendente, 6 in Montefiascone and Vitorchiano, 5 in Capranica, Soriano nel Cimino and Vignanello , 4 in Tarquinia, 3 in Bagnoregio, Bassano Romano, Bomarzo, Montalto di Castro, Orte and Vasanello, 2 in Civitella d’Agliano, Ronciglione, San Lorenzo Nuovo and Valentano, one respectively in Canino, Castel Sant’Elia, Castiglione in Teverina , Corchiano, Faleria, Graffignano, Grotte di Castro, Monte Romano, Nepi, Vallerano and Vejano.
Of the latter cases, three immediately needed hospitalization. The occupancy rate of the beds remains fairly stable, with only one more patient in the dedicated wards compared to the previous day: 40 hospitalized, all in Belcolle after the closure of the Covid Medicine of Montefiascone, which took place last week. In particular, 35 patients are found in Infectious diseases, 1 in intensive care, 4 in Covid Medicine. The remaining 3,597 are spending their convalescence in their own homes.
Finally, yesterday, the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic rose to 573: an 88-year-old from Bomarzo and an 81-year-old resident of Montefiascone, both hospitalized in Belcolle hospital, failed to make it.
